Laptop Insurance, Fees, and Damage Information - This video explains the insurance fee and paperwork involved that will need to be completed before the laptop can be taken home by the student.

Keeping your Laptop Secure - Ultimately, it is the student's responsibility to keep the laptop safe and secure. This video explains some safeguards that students should take with their laptop.
Cleaning Your Laptop - Cleaning your laptop as needed and periodically is a good practice. Watch this video on the methods that Apple recommends for cleaning. It is also a good practice to keep your electronic files organized which will allow you to find them easily.
Software Updates - Students are asked to run Managed Software Update on their laptop every couple of weeks. This video demonstrates the process and also discusses the method of installing Optional Software that students may be asked to install.
Properly Coiling the MacBook Air's Power Cord -- While this may seem like a simple task, there is a particular method in coiling the cord which protects the cord from damage. Follow the instructions in this video which explains how to create a loop or "pigtail" before coiling the power cable.
How to Operate a Combination Lock -- All students are required to store their laptop in a secure location. The student's locker is only considered secure with a school issued combination lock. Follow the instructions in this video which explains how to open a combination lock.
MMS Schedule Pickup and 1:World Learning Initiative
Reminder for Parents/Guardians
Both parent/guardian AND student must be present for schedule pick-up.
In order for the family to take home the computer after school hours, the parent/guardian must pay an annual insurance fee per computer. The rates are $50 or $35 for families who qualify for free/reduced lunches. There will be forms that must be completed.
Videos will be embedded into the computer for the family to watch. Please be sure to watch all videos before allowing your student access to the laptop.
Students will also learn how to operate a combination lock. A combination lock will be required on all hallway lockers for secure storage of their laptop. Students must pay for replacement of the school's combination lock when the lock is misplaced, lost, or stolen. Cost for the lock is $6.00.
